Abstract
A method for the measurement of cannabinol and Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol in the blood has been developed. This method involves gas chromatographic separation of the compounds as their phosphate esters followed by flame photometric detection. Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol levels as low as 2 nanograms per ml of plasma have been readily measured.
