Abstract
A method of predicting the onset of pubertal growth spurt is described. It is based on growth records of 105 children and requires the routine measurement of standing height. The method identifies a point in a patient's development which anticipates the occurrence of the peak in height velocity. In males the prediction is made 1 year in advance of the peak (SD — 5 months), and for females 11 months before the peak velocity (SD = 7 months). Keywords
