Abstract
Summary: The incorporation of 3H-thymidine by PHA-stimulated human peripheral blood lymphocytes from healthy adult males was significantly (p 0.002) suppressed in the presence of diethylstilbestrol diphosphate. The observed suppression of blastogenesis in the presence of exogenous estrogen suggests that the palliative effects of estrogenic therapy in the clinical treatment of patients with hormonally-responsive tumors may be countered by its adverse effect of the host's cell-mediated immunologic responsiveness. Keywords
