Abstract
Discusses how Japanese companies are using quality policy deployment to help them achieve their strategic business goals. Reports how Western companies can utilize this technique. Exemplifies the policy management system. Contends it helps ensure that the quality improvement activities are integrated with the organization′s corporate objectives and that each employee is focused in a common direction and takes ownership for improvement. Contends that the use of quality policy deployment may help to reduce the conflict experienced sometimes in West European organizations.
