Abstract
Using recent work by Conners on dislocation-image forces, it is shown that, in the isotropic elastic-continuum approximation, the forces of interaction between edge-dislocation dipoles and free or coated surfaces vanish to terms of order r−2, where r is the distance between the dislocation dipole and the surface. This is as would be expected from the response of dislocation dipoles to stress fields. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
