Abstract
Etheostoma microperca and E. zonale are diurnal carnivores. Feeding activity in both species increased markedly (on Sept. 9-10, 1977) after sunrise, peaked at midday and decreased after sunset. E. microperca fed mainly on copepods (38-76% of all food items); in late afternoon the diet contained fewer copepods than usual and more chironomids. E. zonale fed most heavily on chironomids (59-96%) at all hours. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
