LAMELLAR INORGANIC ION-EXCHANGERS. BEHAVIOUR OF Y-TITANIUM PHOSPHATE IN THE H + /K + ION-EXCHANGE

Abstract
The H+/K+ion-exchange in Ti(HPO4)2.2H2O (γ-TiP) was studied. The exchange isotherm and the hydrolysis and titration curves at 25°C were obtained. In acidic medium the process occurs in two steps, the half of the exchange capacity of the material being reached. In alkaline medium, the 50% conversion phase was saturated without the appearance of intermediate phases. The evolution of the solid was followed by X-ray diffraction. At room temperature three K-phases with different ionic composition were obtained phase and treated at 200°C was transformed into a mixture of (9.2 A)and(10.8 A)The distribution curve of solid phases showed areas with only one crystalline form.
