Abstract
By and large, positive patch tests with thimerosal lack clinical relevance and should cause concern neither to the dermatologist nor to the patient. The substance should be retained in standard test series for scientific purposes, but on clinical grounds its inclusion does not seem to be indicated. Nevertheless, the phenomenon is intriguing in its own right. Keywords
