Abstract
A group of 50 patients on warfarin sodium were studied for possible adverse effects on anticoagulant action when ibuprofen was administered concomitantly. Factors II, VII and X were determined before starting and after seven days on ibuprofen therapy. Ibuprofen was not found to adversely affect the anticoagulant activity of warfarin. A further study in 30 normal volunteers (on no drugs) suggests that 600 mg ibuprofen daily for 3 days has no action of its own in the plasma phase of haemostasis.
