Abstract
Two young, adult female patients with verified gonadal streaks, but without stigmata of Turner''s syndrome are reported. Both were chromatin positive and had a normal 46/XX chromosomal constitution in all tissues examined, including both gonadal streaks in each instance. Such examples suggest that gonadal dysgenesis in the female, although typical of Turner''s syndrome, may also be the result of either submicroscopic changes in the chromosomal material or of extragenetic, environmental influences on the embryo. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
