Abstract
Conclusions (1) The oral method of carrying out the Graham-Cole test is reliable, and is capable of giving a correct indication as to whether the gall-bladder is normal or pathological in 93% of cases. (2) Except in the case of visualized stones it is not possible by means of this test to give a precise diagnosis. Different surgical conditions will produce similarx-ray appearances, and therefore in the “no shadow, faint shadow and late appearance cases” one is only justified in saying that the gall-bladder is pathological. (3) The success of the method depends upon the most careful attention to details in preparation and to correct radiograph technique.
