Abstract
Ten cases of meningiomas of the cerebellar fossa are presented. The incidence was 1 to 5.8 in a total of 58 meningiomas and 2% of all in-tracranial tumors. The meningiomas were usually attached to the tentorium and transverse and sigmoid sinuses. The subtentorial meningiomas are most commonly confused with an acoustic neurinoma. There is frequent involvement of the 5th nerve. The tumors grow slowly. Differential diagnosis and operative technics are discussed.
