Abstract
The energy and angular distribution of pre-equilibrium neutrons from the interaction of 14 MeV neutrons with target nuclei from 51V to 58Ni are analyzed by the multistep compound and multistep direct theory of Feshbach, Kerman and Koonin (1980) and the semiclassical geometry-dependent hybrid (GDH) model. The same parameter sets are used for both calculations. The calculations are compared with experimental data and the applicability of the theories is assessed. Keywords
