Abstract
Summary: A case is described of a child with Cockayne's syndrome undergoing anaesthesia for dental extractions. Problems were encountered during intubation; the reasons for the difficulty and the management of the case are described and discussed. This syndrome is rare but presents an unusual combination of abnormalities of particular importance to anaesthetists, especially since anaesthesia in patients with Cockayne's syndrome has not previously been described.
