Comparative Nutritional Value of Triticale for Swine

Abstract
AN expermient was conducted to determine the digestible energy (DE), metabolizable energy (ME), metabolizable energy corrected for retained nitrogen (MEn) and nitrogen balance of triticale, corn, barley and wheat grains when fed to growing pigs. From the results obtained it is concluded that triticale has a higher energy value than barley and a lower value than corn and wheat. It is also capable of supporting positive nitrogen retention.
