Abstract
During the past two decades there has been an upsurge of interest in x ray and ultraviolet optics and spectroscopy in the wavelength range 001 to 50 nm. This region is important, for example, in the study of extraterrestrial radiation, in the analysis of radiations emitted by high temperature plasmas, in the analysis of elements by the electron microprobe or xray fluorescence, as well as in the classical studies of the density of electron energy states in matter.
