Abstract
This paper describes the organizational structure of the LEPRA Control Project in Malawi (Central Africa) as it has evolved since 1973. It is meant to serve as a background to a series of publications, which will describe the pattern of endemicity in Malawi, relapse rates, pattern of disabilities and duration of treatment required to achieve slit-skin smear negativity. In addition to describing the methods employed by the LEPRA Control Project, some data are presented on the outcome after treatment in a cohort of patients. It would seem that probably only 3-5% of this cohort did not benefit appreciably from the antileprosy treatment offered. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
