Abstract
The noncubic structural parameters of chalcopyrite crystals have been critically analyzed, and Noolandi's relation on tetragonal distortion is examined. It is shown that the temperature coefficients of the two noncubic parameters are strongly correlated and the thermal expansion coefficient for the more ionic bond is related to tetragonal distortion. With the use of such relations thermal expansion coefficients may be predicted. Keywords
