Abstract
Multi-gigabit per second throughput is demonstrated for the first time in a photonic code-division multiplexed system. Two channels, each transmitting data at 1 Gbit/s, are coherence-multiplexed, transmitted over 11 km of dispersion-shifted fibre and one channel is demultiplexed successfully.
