Abstract
An attempt was made to predict choice between a skill and a chance task on the basis of scores on the I-E scale. The choice situation was ambiguous with no specific information being presented except that the alternates depended entirely either on skill or chance. Two groups of Ss were tested in this condition. I-E scores were significantly related to choice ( p < .05) for males but not for females. Keywords
