Abstract
The preceding Comment by Potting and Shapiro refers to a well-known ambiguity in the open-string theory. Although they raise a valid concern, the ultimate resolution will probably involve a much deeper understanding of the relation between the planar and Möbius loops than is presently in hand.Keywords
