Temporal Sequences in Information Acquisition for Decision Making: A Focus on Source and Medium

Abstract
Previous research on selection of source and medium has failed to consider the dynamic, temporal aspects of information acquisition. In this paper a model that integrates the decision-making and communication literatures is developed. Media selection is viewed beyond an immediate incident to the range of media and sources used throughout the entire decision-making process. Propositions are derived from the model and future empirical research and implications are discussed.
