Abstract
Willis and Bennett have argued that palynological evidence from southeastern Europe fails to substantiate archaeological arguments for a 'Neolithic transition'. In this response, we argue that Willis and Bennett ignore the complexity of the pattern and process of Neolithiciz ation in southeastern Europe and that the available palynological evidence is inadequate to address such issues. Keywords
