Abstract
THE possible role of the Eaton agent in the etiology A of primary atypical pneumonia is presented in a previous report.1 A family outbreak of primary atypical pneumonia, involving one of us (R.T.J.), is described to exemplify the clinical manifestations, the antibody response to the Eaton agent as measured by the fluorescent-antibody method and the inconsistency in development of cold and Streptococcus MG agglutinins during infection and convalescence.Case ReportsThe household unit consisted of 2 adults, a medical officer working in a virology laboratory and his wife, who was employed as a school teacher.
