Abstract
The effect of brominated solvents as compared to acetonitrile and cyclohexane upon the photocycloaddition of acenaphthylene to acrylonitrile suggests that spin–orbit coupling between acenaphthylene solute and heavy-atom solvent increases intersystem crossing efficiency in acenaphthylene.Keywords
