Abstract
Both pre- and post-treatment series of egg counts were made on 9 patients and all worms passed during and after treatment were recovered. The avg. number of ova per gram per female Trichuris was about 215 and the avg. number per worm was about 120. Some correlation was found between size of female worms and number of ova per gram per female. Any attempt to estimate the number of worms harbored by a given individual would depend upon 3 factors, which probably would be unknown to the investigator: the intensity of the infection, the age of the infection and the size of the female worms harbored. Keywords
