Abstract
The Grand Coulee third power plant is a major feature of the Columbia Basin Project, sponsored by the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation. The planning and design of the facilities in this challenging undertaking are currently under way. It is anticipated that a number of ``firsts'' and records will be achieved in its construction, and that it will ultimately be the largest power plant in the world. This article describes the status of the electrical designs for the proposed 7200-MW Grand Coulee third power plant.Keywords
