Nonlinear three-dimensional electromagnetic field computation in electrical machinery

Abstract
The need for design of electrical plant and machinary to operate at high power densities at minimum cost, optimal efficiency, and with a high degree of reliability, necessities accurate performance prediction at the design stage. As an important step in this process, the magnetic field must be evaluated in the complex geometry of the field region taking full account of magnetic saturation. In this paper, the solution to the nonlinear magnetostatic field problem is presented and is illustrated by numerical examples where feasible.
