Abstract
A symmetric version of the regularized‐long‐wave equation is shown to describe weakly nonlinear ion acoustic and space‐charge waves. The equation possesses hyperbolic secant squared solitary waves and has four known invariants. Numerical solutions are compared with previous results on the regularized‐long‐wave equation. Keywords
