Evaluation of existing techniques Is ‘the pill’ safe enough to continue using?

Abstract
The hazards and benefits of oral contraceptives, intrauterine devices and the diaphragm are summarized. Comparisons are then made between these three methods of birth control, using data collected in two large British prospective studies. It is concluded that the medical and social benefits that many women obtain with oral contraceptive use outweigh the hazards, and that ‘the pill’ can continue to be used.
