Abstract
In lungs isolated from actively sensitised guinea pigs, progressively diminishing anaphylactic responses were obtained when the same dose of antigen was repeatedly administered. The successive decrease in bronchoconstriction and histamine release ran parallel. The release of mepyramine-resistant activity was of a different pattern. Desensitisation in the lung was found to be spontaneously reversible. The degree of recovery after desensitisation with different doses of antigen is described.
