Abstract
The effect of several solvents on the chemical shift of the aromatic and amine protons in p-chloroaniline and p-nitroaniline has been measured. The variation in shifts is 1·2 p.p.m. for aromatic and 2·7 p.p.m. for amine protons. The protons ortho and meta to the amino group show different solvent effects. Keywords
