Abstract
To the Editor: Home dialysis was developed to provide dialysis for more patients at a time when funds were severely limited.1 , 2 Before the Medicare ESRD Program, it was common knowledge that home dialysis cost less than outpatient dialysis at a hospital or facility, yet the HCFA has continued to question whether home dialysis is in fact less expensive.
