Abstract
A very simple Universal Logic Gate, ULG, which can realize any of the 16 functions of the two variables, is described and compared with the circuits proposed carlier, A mothod of realization of a ULG of a higher number of variables is also presented. The relative advantages of using a ULG, instead of conventional NAND, AND, OR, NOR and EXCLUSIVE-OR gates, in reducing the number of interconnections and the total number of gates in digital systems, are highlighted. A number of applications of ULG's are given. Keywords
