Abstract
Diffusion coefficients of H in Pd and Pd/Ag-alloys were determined at low hydrogen concentration and at temperatures between 0 and 60 °C by a new electrochemical pulse method making use of time-lag-techniques. The preexponential factor D0 decreases slightly with rising silver content (x=weight % Ag/100) : log D0=-2.409-1.0 x. The activation energy runs through a flat minimum at about 15% Ag. Its dependence on the silver content of the alloy 0 ≦ x ⪅ 0.5 can be expressed empirically by E=5750-5285 x+19100 x2 cal/mol.
