Abstract
Vogt‐Koyanagi‐Harada's disease is more frequently seen in dark‐skinned people. Immunogenetically‐determined susceptibility may play a role in this disease. In the Japanese patients, it was shown that this disease is closely associated with HLA‐Bw54, DWa, DR4 and MT3. Furthermore, HLA‐A9, Bw54, Cw1, DWa, DR4, MT3 and MB3 are in strong linkage disequilibrium in the Japanese, but not in Caucasians. Immunogenetic predisposition closely associated with HLA may therefore elucidate the racial difference of this disease. Keywords
