Abstract
This book is arranged in three parts. The first part deals with the physiology of the pelvic organs and the relation of gynecology to the general organism. Research of the greatest importance has been done in this field in recent years. The second part is intended chiefly for the undergraduate student. There is a description of diseases that are essentially gynecologic. The underlying pathologic processes are enumerated, and microscopic sections illustrating these diseases are presented. The third part is devoted exclusively to gynecologic surgery, and was intended for advanced students and practitioners. The operations discussed are those which the author considers best suited to their purpose. As a result, some procedures which may be excellent are omitted; but no less than seven round ligament operations for malposition of the uterus have been included, which may be considered an indication that other subjects receive full consideration.
