Abstract
Egg drop syndrome is an adenoviral infection which severely depresses commercial egg production. Sera from both commercial duck and chicken flocks are tested for the presence of hemagglutination-inhibition adenovirus antibodies. Duck sera consistently agglutinates fowl erythrocytes and chicken sera shows no serological evidence of infection. Egg drop syndrome may be caused by an indigenous duck virus transferred to chickens by contaminated vaccines. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
