Aged Excluded from Home Health Care An Interorganizational Solution

Abstract
An interorganizational program designed for elderly excluded from existing home care programs was investigated to determine participant characteristics and status of cases after one year. Although the need for and use of service differed markedly by referral agency, the majority of participants continued independent living with inhome services after this period. The program demonstrates the need to eliminate restrictive eligibility criteria as well as the value of interagency staff consolidation as an expeditious means to increase service availability for elderly denied access to other sources of home care.
