Pathogenesis and Physiopathology of Cystic Fibrosis of the Pancreas

Abstract
Eccrine Sweat DefectThe eccrine sweat defect in cystic fibrosis was recognized only in 1953,6 relatively late in the history of this disease. A striking increase in the levels of sweat sodium, chloride and to a lesser extent potassium is present in virtually all homozygotic patients with cystic fibrosis and is the most consistent and easily recognizable chemical abnormality in this disease. In contrast most other sweat solutes, as well as the rate of sweating and the response of the sweat gland to most stimuli, appear to be normal or close to normal.Morphology of Eccrine Sweat Glands Morphologically no . . .
