A Faculty Workshop on Death Attitudes and Life Affirmation

Abstract
This paper reports on a faculty workshop devoted to the discovery and analysis of death attitudes and life affirmation offered as a credit course for faculty and staff at Miami-Dade Junior College, Miami. Florida. The workshop was supported by the administration of the college as a part of its faculty development program. The paper reports on the rationale for the workshop, life-denying characteristics exhibited by some college teachers, a tentative interpretation of these characteristics and the manner in which they may be modified, a review of the workshop goals created by the staff and workshop participants, some strategies used, and some of the ways in which evaluations were made during and at the conclusion of the workshop.
