Abstract
Direct thermistor thermometry recordings of compared with angiographic findings in 100 patients. The results further define the usefulness of this technique in evaluating patients and in population group screening. Medial supraorbital temperature differences of 1.0 F or greater were always associated with internal or common carotid occlusion or stenosis greater than 50%. With values from 0.5 to 0.9 F, 46% of patients had significant carotid lesions and with values less than 0.5 F, 16% had significant carotid lesions. Keywords
