Abstract
Although systemic treatment of disease in plants is still in the experimental stages, a few chemicals have given results of promise. As shown here, some of the sulphonamides readily enter plants via the roots and check infections of such obligate parasites as the cereal rusts, though not without injury to the hosts. Many problems will have to be solved, however, before the gulf between theory and practice is successfully bridged. Keywords
