Abstract
Treatment of cis-[PtCl2(PMe2Ph)(C3H4)] with Me2CNOH gives the title complex, the formation of which involves nucleophilic attack by nitrogen, a 1–3-hydrogen shift, and ring closure. Crystals are monoclinic, space group P21/c, with a= 10.208(3), b= 11.056(3), c= 15.305(2)Å, β= 102.49(2)°, and Z= 4; the final R factor was 0.025 for 3 171 independent F0. A 31P-{1H} n.m.r. study of the conversion shows that some (unidentified) intermediates and minor products are formed. Keywords
