Abstract
This paper describes the second part of some investigations of the elastic field near the centre of an edge dislocation. It is concerned with the local expansion due to atomic misfit, causing a singularity similar to a particular type of centre of pressure. The corresponding stress field is added to that of Part I to give the complete elastic field of a dislocation in a crystal. The solution is also applicable to the dilation of a slit by a solid inclusion, and therefore gives an indication of the stress field of a tapered precipitate in a crystal matrix. Keywords
