Abstract
A method for calculating attenuated total reflection (ATR) spectra of a semi-infinite nonlocal dielectric, in which the effect of the surface is described by a continuous surface potential, is presented. For physically reasonable values of the surface potential parameters the calculated spectra are found to be independent of the choice of the additional boundary conditions (ABC) which are applied at the surface of the dielectricKeywords
