Abstract
The two species are redescribed on the basis of new naterial from arctic Canada and NE Siberia. V. brevicaudus is distinguished by its blue black body, head and first antennal segment, contrasting with the white or yellow 2-3 apical antennal segments. Details on the morphology are given. V. reuteri resembles the Scandinavian V. sarekensis (Wahlgren), but differs by colour pattern, the strongly enlarged antennae in reproductive males (epitoky) and other details. V. reuteri appears to be univoltine. Both species are so far only known from arctic tundra.
