Abstract
Economics and demography are closely interrelated. Essentially, the nature of the dynamics of demographic processes is determined by socioeconomic factors. In turn, demographic factors exert a substantial impact on the development of the economy. This attests to the advisability of establishing a special branch of science—economic demography. One of its most important problems is the study of the population's sex and age structure in connection with the development of production and consumption. Here, employment serves as the connecting link.
