DDT to Control the Chinch Bug

Abstract

In barrier tests with several materials it was learned that corn could be protected, and damage prevented from migrating chinch bugs (Blissus leucopterus), by mixtures of 5% and 10% DDT in pyrophyllite. In tests for the control of chinch bugs on corn a control was obtained with a 1% DDT-pyrophyllite dust mixture as effectively as with similar mixtures of higher concns.
