Abstract
Measurements of the energy distribution of electrons emitted from island metal films under the infra-red laser irradiation show that the electrons have been emitted from a level near the vacuum level. It is deduced that the observed electron emission is caused by electron gas heating. For the vacuum level determination the measurement of secondary electron emission spectra is used. Keywords
